Location

The Bandhavgarh National Park is located in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh. The most convenient way to reach Bandhavgarh is by train. The nearest railway station is Umaria, which comes after the Katani station. The park is a forty minutes drive from the Umaria rail station. If you want to travel by air, the nearest airport is at

Khajuraho, at a distance of 250 km from Bandhavgarh. A 7-8 hours drive from Khajuraho will take you to Bandhavgarh. Flights to Khajuraho are available from Delhi, Agra or Varanasi. Jeeps are the only transport available for transfers.

Entering Bandhavgarh

A forest department guide will accompany you to these safaris and enrich you with expert knowledge and comments on the flora and fauna of the park. The best time to enter the park is at dawn or dusk (after 4 pm) since these are the times the wildlife are most active and the probability of your seeing them is highest.
