The Kaziranga National Park in Assam is often considered the most charming national parks of the world. Well-known all across the globe for the one-horned rhinos, the Kaziranga Sanctuary also hosts some of the rare species of wildlife like Barasingha, wild buffalos and elephants.

Apart from these rare species of animals, the Kaziranga National Park often called the Birding Paradise, is the natural habitat of over 300 species of birds including migratory birds. Some of the unique species of birds found here are Swamp Partridge, Blue-breasted quail, Himalayan Griffon, Bar-headed Goose, white tailed Eagle and many more. Among the migratory birds are Graylag Geese, Ruddy Shelduck, Gadwall, Falcated Duck and more.

Kaziranga can be reached by taking the National Highway 37. About 220 kilometers from Guwahati, Kaziranga is well connected to the main cities by roads. Jorhat, which is 90 kilometers and Furketing which is 200 kilometers away are the nearest stations.

The only two modes of transport available in Kaziranga are Elephants and jeeps.

The climate in Kaziranga ranges between dry and windy in summer and cold in winter. It is advisable to carry woolens in winter and cottons in summer.
